Phoebe is a proud Kuku Djungan, Muluridji, Wakaman, Tagalaka, Kunjen, Warrgamay and Yindinji woman.
Phoebe is a graduate of National Institute of Dramatic Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and the University of Melbourne with a Master’s in Theatre (Writing).
Phoebe is a Creative Producer at Sweatshop Literacy Movement and is a recipient of the Affirm Press Mentorship for Sweatshop Writers.
As an actor, Phoebe’s performance credentials include: Black Cockatoo (Ensemble Theatre), Tiddas (La Boite Theatre), Saltbush (Insite
Arts), Two Hearts (Kings Cross Theatre), Serpent’s Teeth (Kings Cross Theatre), Doing (Kings Cross Theatre) and Rainbow’s End (Darlinghurst Theatre). Phoebe was in the lead cast for SBS’ new TV Series While the Men are Away.
Phoebe is the co-editor and sub-editor for Racism: Stories on Fear, Hate & Bigotry and Blacklight: Ten Years of First Nations Storytelling. Her writing has also appeared in SBS Voices, Red Room Poetry, Sweatshop Women and Povo: Stories on Class and recently in Meanjin.
In 2023, Phoebe was the recipient of the prestigious Dreaming Award and is a 2024 Red Room Poetry Fellow.
Last year, Phoebe’s play Emu In The Sun premiered with ILBIJERRI Theatre Company and Melbourne Theatre Company.
Phoebe’s new co- written play Jalbu Meri will premiere this year with King Cross Theatre (KXT).
