Welcome to the Blak Writers’ Group, a vibrant and supportive community dedicated to nurturing the talents of First Nations writers. Our group provides a safe and inspiring space where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander writers can connect, share their work, and develop their craft.

What We Offer

1. Regular Meetings:

Join us for regular meetings where you can share your writing, receive constructive feedback, and participate in stimulating discussions. Our sessions take place every second Tuesday from 6:30pm (Melbourne local time) and are designed to foster creativity and growth, providing valuable insights from fellow writers and industry professionals.

2. Workshops and Masterclasses:

Enhance your writing skills through our diverse range of workshops and masterclasses. Led by experienced writers and educators, these sessions cover various aspects of writing, from storytelling techniques and character development to publishing strategies and more.

3. Networking Opportunities:

Connect with other First Nations writers and build meaningful relationships within the literary community. Our group offers numerous opportunities to network, collaborate on projects, and support each other's journeys.

4. Exclusive Events:

As a member of the Blak Writers’ Group, you'll have access to exclusive events, including readings, panel discussions, and book launches. These events celebrate the achievements of First Nations writers and provide a platform to showcase your work.
