Friday fortnightly from May to August 2023, ONLINE program.
Train the Trainers is a program for new and emerging disabled writers, guided by industry professionals. Over four months, 16 emerging, disabled writers will attend skill building sessions from different industry professionals. Sessions will be held ONLINE fortnightly on Fridays from May to August 2023. The program aims to provide skills and experience in a range of industry related activities, including: * pitching to festivals and events, * moderating and appearing on panels, * teaching creative writing to a diverse range of audiences, * performing and speaking in public, * networking and social media, * the business side of freelance writing.
Literary Festivals are exciting to attend and even more exciting when you’re programmed into one! This workshop will cover what it’s like to moderate a panel or a one-on-one discussion, including interview preparation and technique. You will also learn what festival programmers are looking for in artists and events, and how to stand out from the crowd.
Applications are open to writers within Australia, but preference will be given to Victorian writers. For further details, and to apply, please go to our Submittable page.
If Submittable is not accessible for you, please contact Jess, the Writeability Program Manager at Writers Victoria.
